This is a program of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for Elkhart County that connects victims of domestic violence with law enforcement to request a restraining order against the abuser. Forms can be filled out online with detailed information about the incidents, or you can make an appointment for assistance in filling out the paper complaint. Your case will be referred to a judge, and the judge may issue the restraining order for one to two years without the need for the parties to come to court, or, if necessary, the judge may issue a subpoena to hear the parties in person. There is no cost for their services.
